When is the best time to have Maternity photos taken?
There is a Sweet spot for maternity photos, which is between 30 - 36 weeks pregnant. The belly is usually well rounded and you are still feeling comfortable enough to move around and pose.
How do I book a photography session?
Booking a photography session is easy. Simply reach out to me through the contact page or through my socials and let me know the type of session you're interested in. I'll guide you through the process, discuss your requirements, and find a convenient date and time for your session.
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
Absolutely! Whether it's at your home, an outdoor location, or in the studio, I'm open to capturing your portraits in a place that suits you best!
How long does a maternity session last?
The maternity session can last between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the session chosen.
Can my partner, kids or pets be involved?
Of course!
What is the price of a Session and what do I get?
Maternity sessions start at $190+gst and packages includes high resolution retouched images.
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
Your password protected online gallery will be available within 7- 10 days to view and choose your images, after you make your choices, you will receive the high resolution edited images within 48 hours.
What do I wear?
I have a variety of maternity dresses in studio, but what you wear will depend on your style. We can discuss options when you inquire.
NEWBORN FAQs
When is the best time to have Newborn photos taken?
For posed newborn photos, the best time ideally is between 6 and 14 days. This is when babies are still very sleepy and prefer being curled up. The posed session can still be done well up to around 30 days old, it just may take a little longer to achieve.
The lifestyle session is a lot more flexible with the age of baby because of the natural style.
When is the best time to book in a Newborn session
I highly recommend booking in your newborn session while you are pregnant. Due to the unpredictable nature of when a baby will arrive, I can only take a limited amount of bookings per month to ensure I have enough space. I use your due date as a reference and adjust to suit once your sweet bundle has arrived.
Where will the posed photoshoot take place?
My home studio is based in Bishopdale, Christchurch.
How long does a newborn photo session last?
The Sweet Bundle can take anywhere from 1- 3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding and snuggles if needed. It is not a rushed session, but does fly by so I welcome you to rest while I photograph your baby!
The wrapped Mini will take 1 hour. Baby's often prefer to be wrapped so will sleep soundly through this session.
The Cherub session can take up to an hour. There isn't a need to set up multiple props or poses.

What do we wear and what do we need to bring?
My studio has white, black and a boho themed backdrops, consider colours that work well with these. Whites, creams, browns and pastels look great. Solid colours and small patterns work well, avoid big logos and slogans if you can. I don't take full body shots of parents, unless requested so feel free to rock up in what ever makes you comfortable!
Mama, if you're stuck, there are dresses in the studio to use too!
For an in-home session, work with tones that work with your furnishings.
What is the Price of the sessions and what do I get?
Newborn sessions start at $195+gst and all packages include high resolution retouched images.
Are parents and siblings included?
The only package that doesn't include parent or sibling shots is the Wrapped Mini session. But these can be added in for an additional fee.
